August 15, 2016

As the summer draws to a close, the CCDMD is back at work helping teachers in the CEGEP network prepare for the new school year. Take a few minutes to have a look at the recent additions to our catalogue and at our latest news. And we wish you a smooth takeoff for 2016–2017!

New products

  • New materials for Problem-Based Learning

The Problem-Based Learning for College Physics website added, for a second time in less than two years, 10 new practical problems.

Olivier Tardif-Paradis, Mathieu Riopel and Alexandre April, physics teachers at Cégep Garneau, are the authors of the 10 new problems. The website now offers 34 activities covering different basic concepts from the three physics courses in the Science program: Mechanics (16), Electricity and Magnetism (9) and Waves, Optics and Modern Physics (9).

  • Cite It!

Cite It! is a resource that helps students cite sources correctly. This interactive tutorial was conceived by Anna Woodrow, a Humanities teacher at John Abbott College. Her objective was to meet the needs of students, especially first-year students, who often have difficulty citing sources properly. Helpful for all disciplines, Cite It! can be used in class or elsewhere and is available for use on computers, phones and tablets. It features four documentation style guides: MLA, APA, CSE and Chicago.
