Second Language Proficiency Test: offered free of charge until September 30

August 23, 2016

The TPLS is an educational resource created by the Collegial Centre for Educational Materials Development (CCDMD) for the Québec college network. This online, adaptive test evaluates a student’s level of oral and written comprehension in French or English. It is meant to be administered twice during the student’s college studies: once at the beginning and once before the diploma is awarded.

The TPLS is offered free of charge to institutions in the college network until September 30. When the trial period ends, the person responsible at the institution is notified in writing and test administrations are invoiced to the subscribing institution on a regular basis. The unit cost is per respondent who takes the test.

The CCDMD is proud to provide this new, reliable tool, which has been adapted to the current college system context and designed to best serve the educational pathways of young Québec students. The TPLS is a result of the contributions of the many teachers who collaborated in its production. The CCDMD thanks them warmly.

The production of the TPLS was funded by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur as part of the Canada-Québec Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction.

For more information on subscriptions or any other TPLS-related topic, please visit www.tpls.ca or contact the CCDMD by email at tpls@ccdmd.qc.ca or by telephone at 514-873-2200.
