El Camino de Santiago

Español lengua extranjera: Ser, estar, en, a, por, para – identificación, definición, descripción, localización, desplazamiento, causa y finalidad

Matilde Asencio, in collaboration with Annie Desnoyers
Cégep du Vieux Montréal

The El Camino de Santiago website offers a variety of multimedia resources for teaching and learning Spanish as a foreign language. Its goal is to improve oral comprehension, reading and written expression.

The Introducción al Camino and Hacer el Camino sections take the learner along the Pilgrimage Road to Santiago de Compostela (Way of Saint James) as they practise linguistic notions. The pedagogical scenario draws on this very rich cultural environment to consolidate learning related to descriptions (characteristics and states), location, movement, purpose and cause. Videos of different characters and 48 interactive exercises help anchor the grammatical components in a general reading of short, meaningful and level-appropriate texts. Learners who create an account can receive personalized feedback and keep track of their results in order to adjust their approach and efforts.
