The software program, Muscular Contraction, is based on simulated, true-to-life in vivo experiences done on frogs. It allows users to study the muscle's mechanical response to an electrical stimulation which varies in intensity, duration and stimulation (isolated or continuous). Thus, users can, on their own or with the help of a series of instructions, study the contraction on the isolated muscle of a frog that bathes in a physiological solution. They can explore the response of the animal by using different parameter combinations and visualize the reaction at different anatomical and histological levels. The responses of the animal are also displayed as curves on the left of the screen. The software is available on the Internet or CD-ROM.
